Privacy
EcoVal sets no cookies, does not track you and sends nothing about you to anyone else. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
What our server receives
Like every website, our server receives your IP address and what your browser asks for, such as a page or a map tile. It uses them only to send the answer. We keep no log of visits, so your IP address is not stored.
To keep the site fast for everyone, the server counts how many valuations each IP address asks for in a minute. The count is kept in memory for about a minute and never saved.
What you draw or pick on the map
An area you draw, or a forest, lake, dam or meadow you pick, is sent to our server to work out its value. The server does not save it: it is forgotten once the answer is sent.
What is kept in your browser
One setting: if you widen the results panel on the forest page, your browser remembers it in its local storage so the panel opens wide next time. It never leaves your browser, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.
No third parties
Fonts, maps and data all come from our own server. There is no analytics, no advertising, no social media buttons and no embedded content from other sites, so your browser contacts no one but us. Links to sources take you to other websites, whose own privacy policies apply.
Where the site runs
On a server rented from HostUp AB in Stockholm, Sweden. HostUp keeps the server running and does not use what passes through it.
Your rights
Since we store no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to show, correct or delete. If you think we handle personal data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
